Bathroom Remodel Plans
In order to successfully renovate your bathroom, bathroom remodel plans are necessary. These plans are your guideline, or instruction manual, to constructing your new bathroom. All aspects of your bathroom renovation should be covered in your bathroom remodel plans, with no exceptions.
When you go to start your bathroom remodel plans, you need to measure out your current bathroom, as well as the location and size of the current items in it. This is your basic plan. From here, you will be able to determine where the pipes are at, and how much floor space you will have to work with.
Next, you need to draw a blank version of the room. This will become the template for your bathroom remodel plans. Ideally, you will sketch out your ideal bathroom, then scale it back to realistic proportions as you figure out what is necessary and what is not. While you will not draw specific tiles onto your bathroom remodel plans, you will need to know exactly how much space you need so you know what sized tiles or floor covering to order.
Your bathtub and toilet should be planned out first. These are difficult to move, and should be placed in their current locations, unless you are performing a complete overhaul of the plumbing in your bathroom. If this is the case, you will need to identify exactly where the pipes are in your bathroom and label them on your master copy of the bathroom remodel plans.
If you are hiring a construction company to do your bathroom remodel, insist that you see bathroom remodel plans prior to the start of construction. This will help you get a better idea of what exactly you will be getting. These plans, combined with selecting the cabinets, vanity, mirrors, fixtures, bathtub and toilet, will help you visualize the final product.
You will not typically find ready made bathroom remodel plans. This is due to the fact that every bathroom is different. There is no standard placement for toilet, bathtub and sinks. This means that while you can have a standard sized bathroom, your piping and furniture will differ from everyone else's.
If you want to use bathroom remodel plans that you have seen on TV or have downloaded from the internet, you will need to modify them to suit your bathroom. In many cases, this is easier than drawing the plans from scratch. However, you should be careful not to make any errors, as these can cause you a lot of problems during construction.
